RIP, VIN SCULLY...

Rest In Peace to Vin Scully...the long-time sports commentator for the Dodgers.

Yesterday, one of the most legendary sportscasters in history passed away. Vin Scully, the long-time commentator at Dodgers games (when the team was in Brooklyn and then Los Angeles), died at his home in Hidden Hills, California, at the age of 94.

He leaves behind a daughter, Cat Scully, while his son Michael A. Scully tragically perished in a helicopter crash back in January of 1994.

Rest In Peace, Vin. Like the late and great Chick Hearn, who was the long-time sportscaster for the Los Angeles Lakers before he died on August 5, 2002, it's nice to know that Scully was able to witness the team he commentated for so many decades win another world championship almost two years ago. Hearn's passing came less than two months after Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal won their third consecutive NBA title with the Lakers back in 2002.

Hopefully, Vin, his son and Chick are hanging out in that great big ballpark in the sky. That was extremely cheesy, but you get the sentiment.
