TAKING SHAPE... So anyways, progress is being made on the mobile launcher platform and tower that is designed to be used by the Ares I rocket once it hopefully becomes operational by 2015. Note the word 'hopefully'. NASA may be launching another rocket from this platform (at Kennedy Space Center's Pad 39B), or no rocket at all, if an Obama-appointed panel reviewing our nation's human spaceflight program comes up with not-so-welcome news for NASA's Ares project around the end of next month.
