Well, I'm STUNNED!! For those of you who didn't watch today's game, the Lakers lost to the 76ers, 107-101 in todays Game 1 of the NBA Finals. This much is certain...Philly, and Allen Iverson in particular, have won my respect. They pretty much showed all of us (don't deny it!) that making the Sixers the underdogs of this series will only motivate them to pull a potential upset of the favorites to take home the championship trophy. There was ANOTHER THING I learned: It is NOT a good thing to sweep your way into the NBA Finals!!! The Lakers had 10 days off...obviously a lot of days to get rusty and let the emotion-driven and still in-sync Sixers to pull off a victory in the first game. Hopefully, Lakers will win in Game 2.
ALARMINGLY, according to ESPN.COM (too lazy to make this a link =)), 12 out of 17 teams in history have gone on to win the title after taking Game 1. That ain't good news for the Lakers. Definitely ain't good news...
