Comikaze Expo 2015...

Posing with Danielle Panabaker at Stan Lee's Comikaze Expo in downtown Los Angeles, on October 31, 2015.

Happy Halloween, Everyone! Earlier today, I drove down to the Los Angeles Convention Center to attend the annual comic book expo that's created and hosted by none other than Stan Lee himself. Like my last visit two years ago (when I met and got an autograph by Alyssa Milano), I went to this year's Comikaze specifically to meet two lovely actresses from various sci-fi and comic book TV shows over the years: Danielle Panabaker and Summer Glau. I last saw Ms. Glau at an event back in 2008, when she was promoting the now-defunct FOX TV show Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Since then, she's appeared on such TV programs as the hit sitcom The Big Bang Theory and the CW Network's Arrow. Danielle Panabaker herself is one of the main stars on CW Network's The Flash.

After I attended the photo ops for Ms. Panabaker and Ms. Glau, I went to Stan Lee's museum exhibit inside the West Hall of the convention center (all of the celebrity photo ops took place inside the South Hall)...mostly to see if it had the suit worn by Paul Rudd in last July's Ant-Man (my favorite Marvel flick this year— Sorry Avengers: Age of Ultron). It didn't...but it did have the cool life-size statue of the new shrinkable member of the Avengers shown directly below. In regards to Age of Ultron, I definitely needed to take a pic with the Hulkbuster statue shown in the last image at the bottom of this entry. Of course, this statue isn't full-scale; otherwise, the Hulkbuster suit would've probably been too tall to fit under the ceiling of the West Hall. That is all.

Stan Lee's Comikaze Expo...

Posing with Alyssa Milano at Stan Lee's Comikaze Expo in downtown Los Angeles, on November 2, 2013.

So yesterday, I drove down to the Los Angeles Convention Center to attend the third annual comic book convention...hosted by none other than Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee himself. Along with Lee, additional celebrities who showed up to Comikaze were Alyssa Milano, "Weird Al" Yankovic, Bruce Campbell, Lou Ferrigno and a few other of their fellow actors. Of course, the only one I met and got an autograph by was Ms. Milano (or Mrs. Bugliari)—but then again, she was the reason why I went to the expo in the first place. Well her, and seeing the costumes and props used in the Iron Man trilogy. Click on this link to view additional pics of this cool film exhibit.

At the Los Angeles Convention Center for E3, on June 11, 2013.

E3... Early this afternoon, I drove down to the Los Angeles Convention Center to visit the Electronic Entertainment Expo...not to hear about how there will be a new installment for Star Wars: Battlefront coming out (Woohoo! I remembered playing Battlefronts 1 and 2 on Playstation 2 almost a decade ago—before I sold all of my video games and accessories to the local GameStop in 2009), or the fact that a fourth Assassin's Creed title (Black Flag) is on the horizon, or that Xbox One and Playstation 4 made their appearance at the annual gamers convention today. Nope, I went to E3 so I could check out a Dragon capsule that SpaceX successfully launched to low-Earth orbit in 2010. Nothing special about Dragon's design (or even of that of NASA's own Orion vehicle), but seeing as how this privately-made craft is the future of human spaceflight for America, I'm all for seeing it in person. Back to E3 though; you either needed to pay admission (I think) or have a badge to check out all of the goodies that the video game industry has in store for The Big Bang Theory-type nerds in the not-too-distant future... Fortunately, there were a lot of free stuff (and attractive girls) to see out in the front lobby, as shown with the pics that I posted with this Blog. That is all.

I want this statue for my backyard.

Do you think this dude will make an appearance at Knott's Scary Farm this October as well?

I usually do these photo ops with the ladies if this were an import car show or something, but whatever.

YESTERDAY, I went to the Adultcon expo at the Los Angeles Convention Center. If there’s one thing I learned while I was there, it was that the show’s no fun when you’re trying to save money...and half the um, stars there require you to dish out cash even if you only want to take a picture of them—not with them. Keep in mind I’ve been to this expo before (actually, it was Erotica LA...back in 2000, ’07 and ’08, respectively. But they're both pretty much the same). But my job is so G*ddamn slow right now that I tried to save up money by only meeting the gals who I really wanted to see. Due to all the geeky space and movie content that comprise this Blog though, they shall remain unnamed in this entry (since I don’t want these ladies to find my page through a Google/Bing.com search). Aw screw it— Sunny Leone (above... I originally met her at the 2004 Glamourcon in LA), Angelina Armani and Kristina Rose (below).

At the 2009 L.A. Auto Show.

LAST WEEK, I attended the L.A. Auto Show at the Los Angeles Convention Center...my fourth time since 2000, I believe, that I went to the annual car expo. Lots of cool rides were on display as usual, but the companies noticeably absent at the convention center were Ferrari, Lamborghini and Nissan. I heard that they didn’t feel like spending cash on transporting their cars to Los Angeles this year...cheap bastards (ironically). Anyways, here are some photos that I took at the auto show.

Yes, I know. This pic would've been better if that model stared at the camera as well. :)

A Lexus LFA.

I’ll eventually create a new page on my main website devoted to this year’s convention. Eventually.

The Audi R8.

THE 2008 L.A. AUTO SHOW... On November 26, I attended the annual car expo at the Los Angeles Convention Center. I took more than 300 photos there (despite the fact my camera’s batteries were dying, and I had to constantly turn the cam on and off to replenish enough power to take another shot), and uploaded 100 of them to my main website. Click here to view them. I’d upload the remaining 200-plus pics, but you know, I’m too lazy to. Despite the fact I already posted a hundred of ‘em online. Anyways...

The 2009 and 2010 Chevy Camaros.

As you can see, I saw in person the Audi R8 (in the image at the top of this entry), the 2009 and 2010 Chevy Camaros (above) and the Chevy Volt (below). Besides being Robert Downey, Jr.’s ride in Iron Man, the R8 will also be shown in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (possibly as a Decepticon)...along with the 2010 Camaro (which will be the vehicle mode for Bumblebee in the sequel. The 2009 model was used for Bumblebee in last year’s Transformers film). The Chevy Volt will also be featured in Revenge of the Fallen, as the Autobot known as Jolt.

FIESTA LAKERS... Click here to view a page that I've devoted to the special event, which took place at the Los Angeles Convention Center on March 25. You should especially check it out if you're a fan of the Laker Girls, haha.

This past weekend, two of my friends and I attended the 24 For 24 event at The Point (a Nike store) in Hollywood. 24 For 24 was a charity event sponsored by Kobe Bryant...whose new line of shoes (the Zoom II) were being sold with an added bonus of receiving a "golden ticket" that would enable winners to get their shoes autographed by Kobe on the afternoon of April 7 (the shoes were available for purchase at midnight on the 7th). 100 pairs of shoes were being sold, with only 24 of them containing golden tickets. I didn't win a golden ticket, but I did win a raffle [after I bought, like, 6 exclusive T-shirts (which came with the raffle tickets and whose payments went to charity) to increase my chances] that allowed me to play in a basketball game that had Kobe as one of the referees! That was cool... It was 24 raffle ticket winners versus 24 golden ticket winners in the game. I may not have gotten KB24's autograph, but at least I shook his hand. All I need now is to get that handshake photographed... When is Kobe's next public appearance? Besides Laker games, that is.

Los Angeles HOT IMPORT NIGHTS... I just came back from the LA Convention Center a little less than an hour ago, and once again, Cora Linn was nowhere to be seen. But oh well! That was made up for by running into Jasbaby--err, Jasmine Mai, at her booth today. The last time I saw her was at the LA HIN almost a year ago (and now she lives in New York). So did Jasmine remember me??? Um, yes she did! Definitely, she did! Can't you tell by the 3 photos below? Haha! Actually, I was a bit embarrassed when the last two were taken--since I wondered how many of the people standing nearby wanted to kick my ass for being in such an awesome position!! Sorry guys, you should go to her Yahoo! club and ask her to act in your film like I did, and develop an acquaintance with Jasbaby, LOL. Other than seeing Jasmine and kissing her twice on the cheeks tonight, I also took a pic with Masuimi Max, Reena Vasquez, Lori Malay, and a couple of other models. One of them looked like Cora Linn, but wasn't Cora Linn. Brooke Burke was also suppose to show up, but I didn't see her...since I wasn't really looking.

All in all, the night was fun. Though it was a bit crowded. Too many friggin' people at the show. Also, there was one import model who was a biatch. The reason why I say this is because I asked her if I could take a picture with her, and she said that I could only take a picture of her since some punkass was setting up a black barricade next to her table so no one could get too close to her. A few seconds later, some dude bought an 8 X 10 photo of this chick...and right after she autographed it (YEA, like YOUR autograph is gonna be worth something someday), she walked over to one part of the black barricade and stood next to that guy to pose for a picture! YO BITCH, if I had to buy something from you in order to take a photo with you, then let me know. Other models will tell you that you have to buy something from their table in order to pose with them. Don't lie about it. So who's this model, you ask? I'll give you a hint: Her first name is Carla. Other than that... What's up Jas!

Me and Jasmine, once again!

UPDATE: I've added the three Jasmine images above, as well as a new Masuimi Max pic, to my Gallery 2 section. A new page devoted to this year's LA HIN has also been posted. Two 8 X 10 photos signed by Reena Vasquez and Lori Malay can be seen in the Autographs page. Check them out!

Yesterday, I went to the SEMA International Auto Salon at the L.A. Convention Center, where I took a picture with cute import model Alexia Lei. I actually went to the show to meet Cora Linn, but she wasn't there when I arrived. I could've stayed longer, but I also went to the city of Van Nuys to attend a Laker signing (they lost to San Antonio today, BAH!)...where I got autographs by Luke Walton and Kareem Rush. By the way, here're are two funny/clever quotes from the 8:30 P.M. episode of The Simpsons today.

"I didn't lie, I was writing fiction with my mouth!" - Homer Simpson to Marge after she found out he didn't read her romance novel

"This is how you talk when you learn English from porno movies..." - Apu, while being sly to Homer after the convenience clerk mentions Marge's novel to him (and hints to Homer that Marge's portrayal of him in the book ain't all that flattering)

One more thing, if you're eagerly awaiting the DVD arrival of the original Star Wars trilogy--which comes out on September 21st--here's how the box covers for the full screen (gold cover) and wide screen (silver) versions will look like. Can't wait!

HOT IMPORT NIGHTS!! I just came back from the Hot Import Nights car show at the L.A. Convention Center about half an hour ago, and needless to say...it was awesome! I finally met the lovely Jasmine Mai in person! More details on this a few days from now... The other models that I met and took pictures with was Natalie Keen (Miss HIN 2004), Francine Dee (for the third time since 2000, heheh), Christine Mendoza (for the second time since 2001), Joyce Lex, Sandy Saya (she definitely does NOT look like Yen in person!!) and Kay Sivilay...who I thought I met at Hot Import Nights in Del Mar (in February of 2000), but I was mistaken. This was the first car show Ms. Sivilay made an appearance at. The only lowpoint of the show was Cora Linn not being able to make it to HIN since she said in her Yahoo! group that she had to fly back to Texas (where she lives). But she did say she'll be at another import show next month. Good grief...I have to save up money for that show AND Asian Model Palooza (which is on March 20th)!! Assuming I go to that one... By the way, enter these models' websites at your own discretion!

And YES, I DID take pictures of cars at HIN. I took a picture of a silver Lamborghini (I loved that car since I was around 7-8 years old!) and Porsche (ditto!)...as well as a fixed-up Hummer (also silver). What's pretty interesting is that you can put new rims, a chrome exhaust, NOS gas tanks, a spoiler, a DVD player, a Playstation 2, a broadway rearview mirror AND new shock absorbers on a 2000 Acura Integra GS-R, and it STILL won't be worth as much as a Lamborghini or Porsche! Not even close...

Batman Begins

UPDATE: This just in from batman-on-film.com: Gary Oldman, the dude who played Dracula and a Russian terrorist who punked Harrison Ford in Air Force One, plays Commissioner Gordon in Batman Begins!! That's gonna be cool... And don't forget about Katie Holmes being the damsel in distress in this film... David Julyan, Chris Nolan's composer on Memento, will be doing the music for Batman Begins. The last time I saw Memento was about three years ago, so I don't remember how Julyan's music sounds like.

Yesterday, I went to the LA Auto Show at the Los Angeles Convention Center, and needless to say--the cars on display were pretty cool...not that the cars I saw at the show in January of 2000 weren't any good. Among the highlights of the show were the Maserati, Ferrari and Lamborghini exhibits. The Lamborghini continues to be one of my all-time favorites cars. Imagine the whiplash you'd get driving a car that can go from 0 to 60 MPH in 3.2 seconds!!! Yup, Lamborghinis rock. The Porsche exhibit was also cool...but I'd rather spend 187 GRAND on a nice house than the newest version of this German vehicle. Of course, $187,000 is pocket-change by Shaq's standard. How sad...for us non(pro)-athletes, that is.

Also, a prop vehicle that will be featured in the upcoming Steven Spielberg film Minority Report (due out in summer of this year and featuring Tom Cruz, err Cruise) was also on display. Made by Lexus, this vehicle kinda resembles the futuristic cars shown in Spielberg's previous film Artificial Intelligence, but the Lexus version is much better. There were also some cool hybrid cars on hand...which UNLIKE regular cars get terrific mileage! Compare 56 miles per gallon a Honda fuel cell vehicle would get as opposed to the measly 19 miles per gallon a Jeep gets when you drive on the highway. Horrendous...

Saleen S7

Anyways, there are too many cool autos featured at the Show to mention in my Blog, so I'll just say...it's great having a driver's license. Not that I'm gonna buy any of the cars mentioned above anytime soon--or in this lifetime or dimension!
