In Memoriam #2...

Posing with Masuimi Max at Hot Import Nights in the Los Angeles Convention Center...on March 5, 2005.

Last night, I found out through Google that Masuimi Max—a model who I met at the 2005 Hot Import Nights in Los Angeles—passed away in her Las Vegas home earlier this year (on January 25)...sadly due to a drug overdose.

Masuimi was 45 years old. May she rest in peace.

I’M ON YOUTUBE! Just thought I’d post up this video (thanks to one of my friends who gave me a heads-up about it) that was taken at the Anaheim Hot Import Nights more than a week ago. I show up at the 4:47 mark...getting a, um, ‘dance’ by Jasmine M. Seeing as how a gripload of people in the crowd were videotaping us when this show was being put on, I wonder just how many other HIN-related clips I’m in on the Web? Woohoo— Internet fame. Haha.

Angel Stadium of Anaheim. 2009 HOT IMPORT NIGHTS... Last Saturday, I went to the car show at Angel Stadium in Anaheim. It was originally suppose to be at Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles, but Dodgers coach Joe Torre must’ve gotten word of it, and told the people who manage the stadium that he doesn’t like a bunch of ghetto, teeny-bop car lovers to be anywhere near his team’s home field. Just kidding. Seriously though, the HIN organizers had to change venues because officials didn’t want a hip hop-themed event at Dodgers stadium (I guess the terms ‘ghetto’ and ‘teeny-bop’ do apply here, after all). Oh well. I didn’t want to drive down to LA, anyway. Me and Jasmine M. Wow, this must be the tenth import show I’ve been to since I started going to these events back in ’99, haha (and no, I didn't include model expos that I also attended, like Glamourcon and the Asian Sirens Expo). For pics from past shows I went to, go to the Gallery 2 section of my website. Me and Lany F.

Los Angeles HOT IMPORT NIGHTS... I just came back from the LA Convention Center a little less than an hour ago, and once again, Cora Linn was nowhere to be seen. But oh well! That was made up for by running into Jasbaby--err, Jasmine Mai, at her booth today. The last time I saw her was at the LA HIN almost a year ago (and now she lives in New York). So did Jasmine remember me??? Um, yes she did! Definitely, she did! Can't you tell by the 3 photos below? Haha! Actually, I was a bit embarrassed when the last two were taken--since I wondered how many of the people standing nearby wanted to kick my ass for being in such an awesome position!! Sorry guys, you should go to her Yahoo! club and ask her to act in your film like I did, and develop an acquaintance with Jasbaby, LOL. Other than seeing Jasmine and kissing her twice on the cheeks tonight, I also took a pic with Masuimi Max, Reena Vasquez, Lori Malay, and a couple of other models. One of them looked like Cora Linn, but wasn't Cora Linn. Brooke Burke was also suppose to show up, but I didn't see her...since I wasn't really looking.

All in all, the night was fun. Though it was a bit crowded. Too many friggin' people at the show. Also, there was one import model who was a biatch. The reason why I say this is because I asked her if I could take a picture with her, and she said that I could only take a picture of her since some punkass was setting up a black barricade next to her table so no one could get too close to her. A few seconds later, some dude bought an 8 X 10 photo of this chick...and right after she autographed it (YEA, like YOUR autograph is gonna be worth something someday), she walked over to one part of the black barricade and stood next to that guy to pose for a picture! YO BITCH, if I had to buy something from you in order to take a photo with you, then let me know. Other models will tell you that you have to buy something from their table in order to pose with them. Don't lie about it. So who's this model, you ask? I'll give you a hint: Her first name is Carla. Other than that... What's up Jas!

Me and Jasmine, once again!

UPDATE: I've added the three Jasmine images above, as well as a new Masuimi Max pic, to my Gallery 2 section. A new page devoted to this year's LA HIN has also been posted. Two 8 X 10 photos signed by Reena Vasquez and Lori Malay can be seen in the Autographs page. Check them out!

KILL BILL VOL. 2... I saw the film last friday, and I liked it in that it was more story-oriented than Vol. 1. And Pai Mei was hilarious! And dope, 'cause he kicks ass. In case you haven't seen the movie yet, don't expect an action-packed gorefest at the end, since (I said before) it's all story.

Wow, I'm flattered. Jasmine Mai is currently using a pic that is on my autographs section for the main photo on her Yahoo! club. In case she changes the photo by the time you click on the link above, I have a screencapture of her page:

Jasmine Mai's Yahoo club

Now if only Jasmine would respond to my messages on her club like she used to in the days following L.A. Hot Import Nights... 1 1/2 months ago...

Verizon DSL SUCKS ASS!!! Anyways, more on HOT IMPORT NIGHTS... This is pretty much why I said in my March 7 entry that I'd talk more about Jasmine Mai a few days after the show. It's because I just picked up the photos last Wednesday, heheh! Anyways, I won't say anything else except to post up the pictures that show why that night was dope...

UPDATE: Jasmine found this journal page!!! Since she posted the address for this webpage in her Yahoo group for all her hundreds of other members to see (August 2006 update: Jasmine's old Yahoo club no longer exists)... I just wanna say what's up to y'all and hope you're having a bangin' day. By the way, you need a Yahoo account to access her message. That, and a membership in her club. Later, Jasbaby!

Me and Jasmine Mai

Lakers: 113, Magic: 110 (OT)... Did you guys see tonight's game against Orlando??? That's precisely why Kobe needs to be traded!! JUST MESSING!! 38 points in the game, and most of that (24 pts.) during the 4th Quarter?... #8 RULES! So does TMac (37 pts.), but he's not on the Lakers, is he?

HOT IMPORT NIGHTS!! I just came back from the Hot Import Nights car show at the L.A. Convention Center about half an hour ago, and needless to say...it was awesome! I finally met the lovely Jasmine Mai in person! More details on this a few days from now... The other models that I met and took pictures with was Natalie Keen (Miss HIN 2004), Francine Dee (for the third time since 2000, heheh), Christine Mendoza (for the second time since 2001), Joyce Lex, Sandy Saya (she definitely does NOT look like Yen in person!!) and Kay Sivilay...who I thought I met at Hot Import Nights in Del Mar (in February of 2000), but I was mistaken. This was the first car show Ms. Sivilay made an appearance at. The only lowpoint of the show was Cora Linn not being able to make it to HIN since she said in her Yahoo! group that she had to fly back to Texas (where she lives). But she did say she'll be at another import show next month. Good grief...I have to save up money for that show AND Asian Model Palooza (which is on March 20th)!! Assuming I go to that one... By the way, enter these models' websites at your own discretion!

And YES, I DID take pictures of cars at HIN. I took a picture of a silver Lamborghini (I loved that car since I was around 7-8 years old!) and Porsche (ditto!)...as well as a fixed-up Hummer (also silver). What's pretty interesting is that you can put new rims, a chrome exhaust, NOS gas tanks, a spoiler, a DVD player, a Playstation 2, a broadway rearview mirror AND new shock absorbers on a 2000 Acura Integra GS-R, and it STILL won't be worth as much as a Lamborghini or Porsche! Not even close...

Batman Begins

UPDATE: This just in from batman-on-film.com: Gary Oldman, the dude who played Dracula and a Russian terrorist who punked Harrison Ford in Air Force One, plays Commissioner Gordon in Batman Begins!! That's gonna be cool... And don't forget about Katie Holmes being the damsel in distress in this film... David Julyan, Chris Nolan's composer on Memento, will be doing the music for Batman Begins. The last time I saw Memento was about three years ago, so I don't remember how Julyan's music sounds like.
